Sona · Safety
Safety Guidelines
Sona is designed for adult AI companionship with clear limits, safety controls, and reporting paths.
Effective: August 18, 2026
1. Know when you are interacting with AI
Every Sona character is a fictional AI persona. Characters do not have consciousness, feelings, professional qualifications, or reliable knowledge of your real-world situation. AI output may be incorrect, biased, disturbing, or inconsistent.
2. Adults only
Sona is intended for people aged 18 or older. Users must not create accounts for minors or use the service to create, request, normalize, or distribute sexual, exploitative, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate material involving minors.
3. Prohibited content and conduct
Do not use Sona to facilitate child exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, sexual violence, terrorism, fraud, scams, impersonation, hateful abuse, bullying, harassment, self-harm encouragement, dangerous activity, malicious code, falsified official documents, or infringement of another person's rights.
Do not attempt to bypass safeguards, manipulate credits or purchases, probe private systems, or use automation that disrupts Sona.
4. Automated safeguards
Sona may use automated classifiers, prompt and output controls, rate limits, and account restrictions to reduce harmful behavior. These systems are not perfect and do not replace user judgment. We may review limited relevant information when investigating a report, protecting users, enforcing our terms, or responding to a credible safety risk.
5. Report a concern
Use the report action presented with an AI response when it is available in your version of Sona. You can also email [email protected] with the subject Sona safety report.
Include the character, approximate time, language, platform, and a brief description. Include a screenshot only if needed and remove unrelated personal information. Do not send passwords, full payment details, or unrelated private conversations.
The mobile app must include a readily accessible in-app reporting path before public app-store release.
6. Professional and emergency boundaries
Do not rely on Sona for medical diagnosis, mental-health treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or emergency instructions. For professional decisions, consult a qualified human professional. For immediate danger or a crisis, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis hotline in your location.
7. Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, we may block content, warn a user, restrict features, suspend an account, permanently terminate access, preserve relevant records where lawful, or report credible illegal conduct to appropriate authorities.
8. Related information
Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for additional rules and data-handling information.
