Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using Sona, creating an account, or purchasing a paid feature, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Sona. You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering this agreement.

2. The service

Sona provides AI-generated text and voice conversations with fictional original characters, along with supported memory, personalization, account synchronization, subscriptions, and consumable credits. Features may differ by platform, country, language, plan, and development stage.

We may improve, add, limit, or discontinue features. We will provide reasonable notice when a material change affects an active paid service, except where immediate action is needed for security, safety, law, or third-party platform requirements.

3. Accounts and devices

You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding credentials, and activity performed through your account or device. You may not sell, rent, transfer, or share access in a way that bypasses plan limits or exposes another person's information.

4. AI disclosures

Sona uses AI APIs to generate responses. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, offensive, or unexpected. Characters are fictional AI personas and do not possess consciousness, emotions, personal experience, or professional qualifications.

Sona is provided for companionship, entertainment, and creative conversation. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or emergency advice. Do not rely on Sona for high-risk decisions or emergency assistance.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use Sona to create, request, upload, or distribute content that is illegal, exploitative, sexually abusive, infringing, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, hateful, or designed to facilitate self-harm, violence, child exploitation, scams, impersonation, malware, or dishonest official documentation.

You must not interfere with the service, probe or bypass security controls, automate access without permission, reverse engineer protected components except where law expressly permits, evade payment, manipulate credits, or use Sona to violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.

We may filter, block, restrict, review, or remove content and may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for safety, security, compliance, or enforcement.

6. Your content

You retain rights you lawfully hold in text, images, settings, and other material you provide. You represent that you have the rights needed to provide that material. You grant us a limited, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, transmit, and display it only as needed to operate Sona, generate responses, synchronize features, provide support, apply safety controls, and comply with law.

7. Sona intellectual property

Sona's software, interfaces, branding, original characters, artwork, voices where owned or licensed by us, and documentation are owned by Lythorix Technologies LLC or its licensors. These terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Sona for lawful purposes; they do not transfer ownership.

8. Paid services

Before purchase, Sona will display the item, included benefits, price and currency, billing period, renewal terms, and any material limitations. Subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled. Consumable credits and subscription allowances are governed by the description shown at purchase and our Billing & Refund Policy.

App-store purchases are billed and managed by the applicable app store. Web purchases, when offered, are processed by a payment provider. Deleting Sona does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription; cancel it through the store account that made the purchase.

9. App-store terms

If you obtain Sona through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the licensed app in addition to these service terms. Apple is not responsible for operating or supporting Sona. Purchases and refunds made through the App Store are governed by Apple's applicable terms and processes.

If you obtain Sona through Google Play, your download and use are also subject to the applicable Google Play terms. Purchases and refunds made through Google Play are governed by Google Play's applicable terms and processes. Where platform terms conflict with these terms for a platform-controlled transaction, the applicable platform terms control that transaction.

10. Account deletion and termination

You may delete your account using Sona's account controls or the public Account & Data Deletion process. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, safety threats, legal requirements, or security risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, and limits of liability—will survive.

11. Service availability

Sona is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lythorix Technologies LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from Sona. Our aggregate liability relating to Sona will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid for Sona during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent mandatory consumer law in your location applies. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do. Material changes may be announced through Sona or another reasonable channel. Questions: [email protected].
